10. White High-Neck Poet Dress (The Tortured Poets Department Era)

White High-Neck Poet Dress (The Tortured Poets Department Era)

The Vibe: Melancholic, dramatic, and hauntingly beautiful. This look is a departure from the sparkle, embodying the raw, literary, and gothic-inspired aesthetic of Taylor's latest album.

The Era It Represents: The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD). This era is defined by a monochrome palette, literary allusions, and a mood of beautiful, dramatic sadness. It’s less about a party and more about a poetic performance, a dramatic reading of one's own heartbreak.

Why It's an Iconic Look: This style is a powerful visual representation of the album's themes. The high, ruffled neckline and the long, flowing silhouette evoke the image of a Victorian poet, a woman confined by circumstance but with a rich, tumultuous inner world. The choice of a simple, stark white is also significant, suggesting both a blank page and a ghostly presence. On social media, fans have embraced this look with a "dark academia" twist, pairing similar dresses with antique-looking books and dramatic, smudged eyeliner. It's a look that is both deeply romantic and profoundly sad.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: The key is to look for a white or cream-coloured maxi dress with specific details. Search for terms like "high-neck," "ruffle-neck," "Victorian-style," or "poet dress." The fabric should be soft and flowing, like cotton, linen, or viscose. For a true TTPD feel, look for delicate lace details or subtle ruching. Retailers like Free People often have dresses with this kind of bohemian, vintage-inspired feel.

  • Styling and Accessories: Keep the accessories minimal and meaningful. A simple black ribbon tied around the neck as a choker is a popular and effective choice. Vintage-style lockets or delicate silver rings also work well.

  • Hair and Makeup: The beauty look is key here. Think soft, slightly undone hair—perhaps a loose, low bun with a few tendrils escaping. The makeup should be dramatic but melancholic: a flawless, pale base, a smudgy, kohl-rimmed eye, and a deep, wine-coloured or nude lipstick.

  • The DIY Touch: You can easily customize a simple white dress by sewing a pre-made lace or ruffle collar onto the neckline. You can often find these on sites like Etsy.

This look is a beautiful, understated, and deeply artistic choice. Its timeless elegance is a theme we explore in our list of 15 Timeless Dresses That Always Impress at Formal Events.

Where to Find Similar Items: Look for vintage-inspired dresses on ASOS, at Free People, or by searching for "prairie dress" or "Victorian maxi dress" on secondhand sites like Vinted or Depop.

9. Blue Sequin Bomber Jacket (The 1989 Era)

Blue Sequin Bomber Jacket (The 1989 Era)

The Vibe: Fun, energetic, and effortlessly cool. This look captures the vibrant, pop-art-infused energy of the 1989 era, a time of new beginnings, big cities, and squad goals.

The Era It Represents: 1989. This era is all about embracing pop music, celebrating friendship, and the dazzling, electric energy of New York City. The style is a mix of high-fashion and street-style cool.

Why It's an Iconic Look: The sequin bomber jacket is the perfect, playful statement piece. It’s a versatile look that can be dressed up or down, and it’s a more comfortable and practical option than a full dress, making it perfect for a long night of dancing. On TikTok, fans have had a huge amount of fun creating their own DIY versions of this jacket, using patches and different coloured sequins to personalize the look. It’s a celebration of the fun, carefree spirit of the 1989 album.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Jacket: The jacket is the undeniable star of the show. Look for a bomber jacket that is completely covered in sequins. While blue is the classic choice, you could also opt for silver, pink, or a multi-coloured version.

  • The Base Layer: The key to this look is to keep the rest of the outfit simple to let the jacket shine. A simple black or white tank top or a band t-shirt, paired with high-waisted shorts or a simple skater skirt, is the perfect combination.

  • Styling and Accessories: Classic, retro-style trainers like Converse or Vans are the perfect footwear. For accessories, think classic Ray-Ban-style sunglasses and a bold, red lip to complete that classic Taylor Swift look.

  • The DIY Touch: Creating your own jacket is a fantastic and popular project. You can buy a plain bomber jacket and either sew on sequin trim in patterns or use fabric glue to attach individual sequins. For a simpler version, you can iron on sequined patches of seagulls, the "1989" logo, or New York-themed icons. A great resource for craft supplies is Hobbycraft.

This look is a fantastic example of how a single statement piece can define an entire outfit. For more on creating a standout look, check out our guide to 7 Effortless Date Night Looks.

Where to Find Similar Items: You can find sequin bomber jackets on ASOS, at fast-fashion retailers like Zara during the festive season, or on Etsy for more unique, handmade versions.

8. Snake Print Black Jumpsuit (The Reputation Era)

Snake Print Black Jumpsuit (The Reputation Era)

The Vibe: Dark, edgy, and powerfully defiant. This look is a complete departure from Taylor's previous styles, embodying the moody, bass-heavy, and unapologetic energy of the Reputation era.

The Era It Represents: Reputation. This is Taylor’s villain era. It’s a period defined by themes of betrayal, revenge, and reclaiming one's own narrative from the media. The aesthetic is dark, moody, and full of snake imagery.

Why It's an Iconic Look: The snake print jumpsuit is a powerful and unforgettable statement. It’s a symbol of Taylor shedding her old skin and embracing a tougher, more formidable persona. The choice of a jumpsuit over a dress is significant; it’s a practical, powerful, and almost armour-like garment. On social media, this is one of the most popular and empowering looks to recreate, with fans embracing the dark, edgy aesthetic with temporary snake tattoos and dark, dramatic makeup.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Jumpsuit: The key is to find a black, form-fitting jumpsuit. For the full Reputation experience, look for one with sequins, a metallic finish, or a subtle snake print or texture. A simple black catsuit or even a good quality pair of black leggings and a matching long-sleeved top can be a great base.

  • Styling and Accessories: This look is all about the details. Knee-high black boots are a must. For accessories, think layered silver necklaces with snake pendants or chunky silver rings. For more on the symbolism of snakes in fashion, Vogue has some fascinating articles on the history of serpent jewellery.

  • Hair and Makeup: The beauty look should be dark and dramatic. A sharp, winged eyeliner, a smoky eye, and a deep, vampy lipstick in a shade of burgundy or dark red are essential. For hair, think slicked-back, wet-look styles or a high, powerful ponytail.

  • The DIY Touch: You can easily elevate a simple black jumpsuit by adding your own snake details. Use fabric glue to attach green or silver sequin trim in a snake-like pattern, or use fabric paint to create a more subtle design.

This powerful, edgy look is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to make a statement. Its dramatic flair is perfect for a big event, and for more on event dressing, check out our article on What to Wear to a Black-Tie Wedding.

Where to Find Similar Items: Look for sequin or black jumpsuits on sites like Lulus, ASOS, or at high-street shops during the party season.

7. Classic Heart Tulle Dress (The Lover Era)

Classic Heart Tulle Dress (The Lover Era)

The Vibe: A dreamy, pastel-coloured, cotton-candy fantasy. This look is the pure, unadulterated joy of the Lover era, a celebration of love in all its forms.

The Era It Represents: Lover. This era is a complete 180 from the darkness of Reputation. It’s a vibrant, rainbow-hued celebration of romance, friendship, and LGBTQ+ rights. The aesthetic is all about pastel colours, glitter, hearts, and butterflies.

Why It's an Iconic Look: The tulle dress is the ultimate romantic statement. It’s whimsical, feminine, and incredibly fun. The use of pastel colours—pinks, blues, and lavenders—and heart motifs are a direct and joyful representation of the album's themes. On Pinterest and TikTok, this is one of the most popular looks for fans to recreate, especially for those attending the concert with a partner or a group of friends. It’s a look that is pure, unadulterated happiness.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: The key here is the fabric and the colour. Look for a dress made from layers of soft tulle in a pastel shade of pink, blue, or lavender. A-line or skater dress silhouettes are perfect. For the full Lover experience, look for dresses with heart-shaped cut-outs, glitter details, or heart-print patterns.

  • Styling and Accessories: This is a chance to have fun with your accessories. Heart-shaped sunglasses, glittery hair clips, and colourful friendship bracelets are all perfect additions. A pair of sparkly silver or platform heels will complete the look.

  • Hair and Makeup: The beauty look should be equally fun and colourful. Think pink eyeshadow, a glossy pink lip, and a generous amount of face glitter or stick-on face gems around the eyes. For hair, soft, romantic waves or a fun, high ponytail are great choices. For more romantic style inspiration, check out our list of 10 of the Most Romantic Movie Wedding Dresses of All Time.

Where to Find Similar Items: Brands like Selkie are famous for their romantic, puffy tulle dresses, but you can find more affordable versions on sites like Lulus, ASOS, or by searching for "tulle party dress."

6. Romantic Cottagecore Maxi Dress (The Folklore/Evermore Era)

Romantic Cottagecore Maxi Dress (The Folklore/Evermore Era)

The Vibe: Ethereal, rustic, and deeply soulful. This look is a complete departure from the pop glamour, embodying the quiet, introspective, and story-driven nature of the Folklore and Evermore albums.

The Era It Represents: Folklore and Evermore. These are Taylor's surprise "sister" albums, created during the lockdown. The aesthetic is pure "cottagecore"—a romanticization of a simple, rural life. It’s all about cozy cabins, misty forests, hand-knitted cardigans, and a deep connection to nature.

Why It's an Iconic Look: This style is a beautiful representation of the albums' stripped-back, acoustic sound. The soft, flowy maxi dress is a symbol of a more natural and less performative way of being. On social media, the cottagecore trend is massive, and this look is a perfect embodiment of its core principles. It’s a look that is comfortable, timeless, and deeply romantic. For a deep dive into the cottagecore aesthetic, Architectural Digest has a fantastic article.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: Look for a long, flowy maxi or midi dress in a soft, natural fabric like cotton or linen. The colour palette should be muted and earthy—think creams, beiges, olive greens, and dusty blues. Details like subtle floral prints, delicate lace trim, or peasant-style sleeves are perfect. For inspiration on this style, check out our guide to Bohemian Wedding Dresses.

  • Styling and Accessories: The key accessory for this era is a chunky, oversized cardigan. Keep the rest of the accessories simple and rustic—delicate gold necklaces, perhaps a flower in your hair. For footwear, a pair of vintage-style lace-up boots is the perfect choice.

  • Hair and Makeup: The beauty look should be natural and effortless. Think minimal makeup, perhaps a touch of mascara and a nude lip. For hair, a loose, braided crown or two simple, slightly messy braids are the signature look of this era.

Where to Find Similar Items: Brands like Free People and Christy Dawn specialize in this aesthetic. You can also find beautiful, affordable options at high-street stores like H&M or by searching for "cottagecore dress" on Etsy for handmade and vintage finds.

5. White 3D Butterfly Dress (The Speak Now Era - Whimsical Version)

White 3D Butterfly Dress (The Speak Now Era - Whimsical Version)

The Vibe: Whimsical, magical, and utterly enchanting. This is a playful and creative take on the Speak Now era, perfect for those who want to stand out.

The Era It Represents: Speak Now. This era is all about fairy-tale romance, confessional songwriting, and a sense of youthful, wide-eyed wonder.

Why It's an Iconic Look: While the big purple ball gown is the most famous Speak Now look, the butterfly dress offers a more unique and crafty interpretation of the era's magical themes. Butterflies are a powerful symbol of transformation and growth, which perfectly aligns with the themes of the album. This is a look that has been hugely popular with fans who love a DIY project, with thousands of tutorials on TikTok showing how to create your own version.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: Start with a simple base dress. A white or pastel-coloured A-line or skater dress is the perfect canvas. The simpler the dress, the more the butterflies will pop.

  • The Butterflies: This is the fun, creative part. You can buy packs of 3D fabric or feather butterfly appliques in various colours and sizes from craft stores or online retailers like Amazon.

  • The DIY Process: Lay your dress flat and plan out your design. You can create a cascade of butterflies flowing down the skirt, concentrate them on the bodice, or scatter them randomly. You can attach them using a hot glue gun (for a no-sew option) or with a few small stitches for a more secure hold.

  • Styling and Accessories: Keep the accessories simple to let the dress be the star. A pair of simple heels and some delicate jewellery are all you need. For a truly magical touch, you could add a few butterfly clips to your hair.

This kind of creative, DIY approach is a wonderful way to make an outfit your own. For more on unique wedding style, check out our article on 15 Unique Wedding Dress Alternatives to the Traditional Veil.

Where to Find Similar Items: The joy of this look is in the making! Find a simple base dress from any high-street retailer and then head to a craft store for your butterfly supplies.

4. Shimmery Disco-Ball Dress (The Midnights Era)

Shimmery Disco-Ball Dress (The Midnights Era)

The Vibe: Dazzling, glamorous, and ready for a midnight party. This look perfectly captures the synth-pop, "bejeweled" energy of the Midnights era.

The Era It Represents: Midnights. This is Taylor's journey back to pop, an album of late-night confessions and shimmering, synth-heavy soundscapes. The aesthetic is a mix of 70s-inspired glamour, celestial motifs, and a deep, midnight-blue colour palette.

Why It's an Iconic Look: This is the ultimate party dress. It’s a direct reference to the "bejeweled" concept, a celebration of shining bright and making the whole place shimmer. The disco-ball look is a massive trend in fashion, and this is its perfect, concert-ready incarnation. On social media, this is one of the most popular looks, with fans embracing the "more is more" philosophy with full-sequin, rhinestone, and glitter-covered mini-dresses.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: The key is sparkle! Look for a mini-dress that is completely covered in sequins, rhinestones, or glitter. The classic Midnights colours are a deep, "midnight" blue or a shimmering lavender, but any metallic or iridescent colour will work. The silhouette should be simple and ready for dancing.

  • Styling and Accessories: Let the dress do the talking. A pair of platform heels and some simple, sparkly jewellery are the perfect accompaniments. For a true "Bejeweled" look, you could add some sparkly, crystal-covered tights.

  • Hair and Makeup: This look calls for full-on glamour. Think a dramatic, sparkly eyeshadow, a bold winged liner, and a glossy lip. For hair, sleek, straight locks or big, bouncy, 70s-inspired waves are perfect. For more on glamorous looks, check out our guide to 7 Effortless Date Night Looks.

Where to Find Similar Items: This is the ultimate party dress, so look at retailers who specialize in occasion wear, like Lulus, ASOS, or high-street shops like Zara and H&M, especially during the festive season.

3. Red Sequin Romper (The Red Era)

Red Sequin Romper (The Red Era)

The Vibe: Bold, glamorous, and a little bit heartbreaking. This look perfectly captures the passionate, high-emotion, and pop-infused energy of the Red era.

The Era It Represents: Red. This is Taylor's transitional album, a brilliant blend of country heartbreak and stadium-sized pop anthems. The aesthetic is defined by the colour red, vintage-inspired silhouettes, and a sense of bold, unapologetic emotion.

Why It's an Iconic Look: The red sequin romper or mini-dress is the perfect embodiment of the album's confident, pop-star energy. It’s a direct homage to the iconic looks from her Red tour. The colour red is a powerful symbol of the album's themes of passionate love, intense anger, and deep heartbreak. A romper is a fun and practical choice, perfect for dancing and singing along to anthems like "22" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Outfit: The key is red and sparkle. Look for a red sequin romper, a red mini-dress, or even a red sequin top paired with high-waisted black shorts.

  • Styling and Accessories: The signature accessories of the Red era are essential. A black fedora hat and a pair of classic, black Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses are non-negotiable. For footwear, a pair of black Oxford shoes or classic red Keds are the perfect choices.

  • Hair and Makeup: This era is all about the bold, red lip. Pair it with a simple, classic black winged eyeliner. For hair, think straight locks with a heavy, blunt fringe (bangs).

  • The DIY Touch: You can easily recreate the famous "A Lot Going On At The Moment" t-shirt from the "22" music video using a plain white t-shirt and some black fabric paint or iron-on letters.

This bold, statement-making look is a fan favourite, and for more on making a statement, check out our article on the Latest Wedding Trends.

Where to Find Similar Items: Look for red sequin dresses and rompers on occasion-wear sites like Lulus, or at fast-fashion retailers during the holiday season.

2. Purple Ball Gown Dress (The Speak Now Era)

Purple Ball Gown Dress (The Speak Now Era)

The Vibe: A true fairytale princess moment. This is the ultimate, unapologetically romantic and enchanting look from the Speak Now era.

The Era It Represents: Speak Now. This era is all about epic love stories, fairytale imagery, and grand, romantic gestures. The album was entirely self-written, a deeply personal and confessional body of work.

Why It's an Iconic Look: The purple ball gown is the definitive, iconic look of the Speak Now era. It’s a direct visual representation of the song "Enchanted," a sweeping, romantic epic about meeting someone for the first time. The choice of a big, beautiful ball gown transforms the concert into a magical, fairytale moment. On social media, this is one of the most beloved looks, with fans embracing their inner princess with layers of lilac and lavender tulle.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: This is a "go big or go home" look. The key is volume and colour. Look for a dress with a full, layered tulle skirt in a shade of lilac, lavender, or violet. A floor-length gown is the most dramatic, but a tea-length or mini version can be a more practical and equally charming choice.

  • Styling and Accessories: The dress is the statement, so keep the accessories elegant and simple. A delicate crystal necklace, sparkly earrings, and a pair of simple silver heels are all you need.

  • Hair and Makeup: The beauty look should be equally romantic and ethereal. Think soft, shimmery eyeshadow, a pink glossy lip, and a touch of highlighter. For hair, a romantic, slightly messy updo with soft, curly tendrils is the perfect choice. This kind of fairytale look is the stuff of wedding dreams, and for more on that, you can check out our list of 10 of the Most Romantic Movie Wedding Dresses of All Time.

Where to Find Similar Items: Look for tulle prom dresses or formal gowns on sites like Lulus or Ever-Pretty. For a more unique or custom-made version, Etsy is a fantastic resource.

1. Gold Sequin Fringe Dress (The Fearless Era)

Gold Sequin Fringe Dress (The Fearless Era)

The Vibe: Joyful, sparkling, and utterly iconic. This is the look that defined an era, a perfect, golden embodiment of the "Love Story" fantasy.

The Era It Represents: Fearless. This is the era that catapulted Taylor Swift from a country music darling to a global superstar. The album is a collection of songs about fairytale romances, high school crushes, and the fearless, head-over-heels feeling of first love.

Why It's the Best: The gold fringe dress is, without a doubt, the most iconic and beloved look of the entire Eras Tour. It is a direct and beautiful homage to the dresses she wore during her original Fearless tour over a decade ago. The way the golden fringe catches the light and moves as she spins and strums her guitar is pure, unadulterated magic. It is a look that is filled with joy, nostalgia, and the triumphant energy of a victory lap. On TikTok and Pinterest, this is the number one look that fans aspire to recreate. It is, quite simply, the heart of the Eras Tour fashion.

How to Recreate the Look:

  • The Dress: The key elements are gold, sequins, and fringe. Look for a mini-dress in a flapper or shift style. The more fringe, the better!

  • Styling and Accessories: The signature accessory for this era is a pair of classic, brown leather cowboy boots. Don't forget to draw the number "13" on the back of your hand with eyeliner for that classic Swiftie touch.

  • Hair and Makeup: The Fearless era is all about Taylor's iconic, long, curly blonde hair. If you don't have natural curls, you can use a small-barreled curling iron to create tight ringlets. The makeup should be sparkly and youthful—think gold glitter eyeshadow and a natural, glossy lip.

  • The DIY Touch: This is another fantastic DIY project. You can buy a simple gold sequin dress and sew or glue on layers of gold fringe trim to the hem and body of the dress to create that signature movement.

This look is a true celebration, perfect for any bride who wants to shine, and for more on that, you can check out our article on Sparkly Wedding Dresses.

Where to Find Similar Items: This is a popular style for party dresses. Look on sites like Lulus, ASOS, and Nasty Gal, especially when searching for "fringe dress" or "flapper dress."

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

4. Where is the best place to find affordable outfits for the tour? Secondhand apps like Vinted and Depop are fantastic resources. You can also find great, affordable pieces at fast-fashion retailers like ASOS, H&M, and Zara, especially if you shop with a specific era's keywords in mind.

9. How can I find more inspiration for my Eras Tour outfit? Pinterest is your best friend. Create a board for your chosen era and search for "Eras Tour outfit [your era name]." You will find thousands of images of both Taylor's outfits and fan creations to inspire you.

10. What's the best way to do my makeup for the tour? Glitter, glitter, and more glitter! Glitter eyeshadow, face gems, and a bold lip colour are all hugely popular choices. Many fans also paint the number "13" (Taylor's lucky number) on their hand.

Help Us Keep Sharing Stories That Matter

At That Love Podcast, we're passionate about creating content that enriches your daily life—from inspiring podcast episodes to helpful articles on food, beauty, home ideas, and everything in between.

Every donation helps us continue delivering the quality content you love, completely free for our community. Your support covers our hosting costs, allows us to invest in better equipment, and gives us the time to research and create more of the articles and episodes that make a difference in your life.

Whether you can give £5 or £50, every contribution keeps our passion project alive and helps us serve our growing community better. Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us spread more love, one article and episode at a time.
