Find Love and Laughter on Amazon Prime: Discover 'Yesterday,' 'Coming 2 America,' and More

If you're in the mood for a movie night filled with romance, heartwarming stories, and plenty of laughs, look no further than Amazon Prime Video. They offer a diverse selection of films that are sure to satisfy your craving for feel-good entertainment. From the unique romantic comedy "Yesterday" to the highly anticipated sequel "Coming 2 America," and even the enchanting time-travel tale "About Time," there's something for everyone. So grab some popcorn, snuggle up on the couch, and get ready for a delightful cinematic experience.

About Time : Rewriting History for Love (And Beyond Amazon Prime)

While not currently available on Prime, Richard Curtis's About Time remains a must-watch for fans of thoughtful rom-coms. Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) uses his time-travel abilities to pursue Mary (Rachel McAdams), leading to both heartwarming and hilarious results. But the film's message goes beyond love: it's about savoring life's simple joys and recognizing that even with the power to alter the past, the present moment holds its own beauty.

Tip: Search for "About Time" on other streaming platforms to enjoy its unique take on romance and life lessons.

Yesterday: A World Without The Beatles, Brought to You by Prime Video

Imagine waking up to a reality where The Beatles never existed, and you're the only one who remembers their legendary songs. That's the delightful premise of Yesterday, available on Amazon Prime Video. Himesh Patel gives a charming performance as Jack Malik, who grapples with fame and the price of artistic integrity. Meanwhile, Lily James portrays Ellie, whose unwavering support forms the film's emotional core. "Yesterday" is a love letter to timeless music and reminds us that true love often means celebrating another's brilliance, not just our own.

Coming 2 America: Royal Romance with Prime Video

Also available on Amazon Prime Video, Coming 2 America reconnects us with Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and Semmi (Arsenio Hall) as they embark on a new adventure. The sequel focuses on Akeem's son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler), and his blossoming romance with the ambitious Mirembe (Nomzamo Mbatha). The film offers a modern twist on classic tropes, exploring cultural differences and the balance between tradition and personal dreams within a love story.

The Power of Prime Video: Exploring Love, Legacy, and Music

Amazon Prime Video's selection highlights the diverse ways love stories can unfold, from the fantastical to the refreshingly grounded:

  • The Limits of Control: Both "Yesterday" and "About Time" (in its own way) remind us that external circumstances, be it fame or time-bending abilities, can't guarantee happiness.

  • Love as a Conscious Choice:  Whether it's recognizing unwavering support (like in "Yesterday") or a partner's independent spirit (as seen in "Coming 2 America"), healthy love transcends expected formulas.

  • Music as a Unifying Force: The Beatles' iconic tunes in "Yesterday" create a sense of shared joy, proving the enduring power of music to connect people across differences.

Your Perfect Amazon Prime Movie Night

If you're seeking a poignant mix of humor and introspection, consider adding "About Time" to your watchlist (even if not on Prime). For a feel-good musical experience with a dash of 'what-if', "Yesterday" on Prime Video won't disappoint. And if you're in the mood for lighthearted laughs and a modern take on a classic fairy tale, Prime's "Coming 2 America" fits the bill.

That Love Podcast presents: Stolen Kiss — Episode 4

An audio romantic drama series about chasing dreams, swallowing pride, and the quiet courage it takes to let someone back into the parts of yourself you've kept hidden.

Logline: When Diane discovers the secret Jack has been carrying alone — a dream he never told her about, a humiliation he never saw coming — she's forced to reckon with how much of him she never truly knew, and how much she still wants to.

Episode Summary: Jack Marsden has been quietly auditioning for acting roles — Oppenheimer, Barbie, Dune, and one deeply committed Shrek performance — and losing spectacularly, before a cruel callback from a casting team who never intended to give him a chance nearly breaks him completely. Diane, having pieced together his secret with a little help from one of his abandoned scripts, shows up just in time to witness the fallout — and the humiliation on his face is enough to make her go to war on his behalf. What follows is one of the most honest conversations Jack and Diane have had in twelve years: a quiet reckoning in a parked car where old dreams, old wounds, and old feelings all surface at once. By the time Diane offers him a seat in an acting class alongside Seth Rogen and Leonardo DiCaprio, the walls between them are lower than they've been since college — and when she asks him to dinner, and calls it a date, Jack says yes without hesitation.
